Every single page reveals something interesting about people. Some makes obvious sense, others are quite revealing and unexpected. As an example, a friend and I conducted an experiment based on what we read. Early in the book, there is discussion about how people feel uncomfortable when strangers make direct and constant eye contact. To test this, we walked side-by-side down a narrow, busy tourist sidewalk in New Orleans, making and holding eye contact deliberately: People parted like the Red sea, even stepping into the street to avoid us. Neither of us are particularly dangerous looking. ;) This and much more is revealed in the pages of this book. Even if psychology and human behavior is merely a passing interest, get this book if you can find it! Pros: * Fascinating and accessible knowledge for anyone Cons: * Out of print
I've Come Back To It Year After Year

I first came across this book while writing a high school term paper on psychology. I've since memorized most of the information that applies to me and the people that I know. It is hilarious and would definitely make you one of the most interesting people at a cocktail party. I've even tried some of the suggestions . . . such as when Asbell suggests that if you want to find a seat in a crowded cafeteria, you should pick a person out and stare at them. Although it sounds mean, he says "Want faster results? Pick an overweight person to stare at."
