A book on angels that points to the Lord

"Anyone who goes into a study of angels with a high view of God will come away with an even higher view." David Jeremiah closes his first chapter with these words. His book gives a comprehensive study of angels. But even more, it focuses on God (though still teaching on angels) from beginning to end. This is by far the best book I've read on angels. Jeremiah keeps his priorities in line throughout. He uses primarily Biblical text to teach (adding a few helpful outside texts and acknowledging when he uses them). We learn of angels' presence, appearance, worship, roles, sounds, etc. There's even one chapter on "Hell's Angels," but coverage is minimal, tucked away toward the end (and with all of God's greatness that we learn in un-fallen angels, that is their proper place). Jeremiah even adds a touch of creative flair to his presentation of the text, making understanding richer (without overreading into it). His writing style is smooth - smart but not bookish. This is the first of David Jeremiah's works I've read, and I was thoroughly delighted, right down to the appendixes of Scriptural references (eight pages!) and helpful subject index. What I took away is summarized well in his final chapter: "That angels truly love the Lord, and will always love to serve him... and so will I." A GREAT read.

In depth study of Angels and their role. Recommended.

This is the first book that I've read by David Jeremiah, but it won't be the last. The style and clarity of his presentation and writing, and the manner in which he puts across this message is commendable. David Jeremiah presents an extremely thorough Biblical study of Angels. Through many, many Biblical references and examples, he demonstrates and describes the role of Angels as powerful guardians and messengers of guidance, enlightenment and comfort to God's people and how they are used in pursuit of God's purposes. The author shows clearly that Angels are themselves created beings and are not to be regarded as items of worship, fantasy or idols. This is a very accurate book which dismisses many of today's myths surrounding Angels and which is based only on Biblical truths.A must read for anyone with the slightest interest in learning the truth about Angels.

Excellent bible based study on angels

With all of the angel mania in today's culture, this book is a study based on what the BIBLE says about angels. Very well written, and, when combined with Billy Graham's book on angels, will give you an excellent knowledge of what the Bible does say about angels. I used it and the study guide (avail from Turning Point Ministries) to teach a Sunday School Class, which went very well.

Conveys exactly what the title implies

Dr. Jeremiah offers strong truths about angels which are Biblically backed and does so in his own patented, light-hearted way. This book dispells any fictional thoughts one may have had about them. He is indeed a pleasure to read or hear.

Excellent, Bible-based book on the nature of Angels.

A comprehensive study of the scriptures and common beliefs regarding God's Messengers. Dispels many myths and is full of new knowledge. No topic is discussed with complete scriptural basis and citation. A very important part of my personal Bible books collection. Dr. Jerimiah is a very entertaining author though he presents mostly the pre-millinialist view. There are some weaknesses to the presentation. A case in point, the section speaking about the controversy surrounding Gen.: 6 regarding the therory that Angels were on Earth finding mates and having offspring with woman. While he is correct, these might have been Adam's decendants, the translations from the Hebrew were that there were heavanly beings whose offspring were immortal. Maybe not God's angels (Satan's?)but heavanly beings none the less. There are other instances but these do NOT detract from the enjoyment of this wonderful text that is very attractively bound. The hard-bound version is even more! attractive. I found the book very insipring and a bolster to my overall faith. On reading this book, I am searching for other books by the dynamic author. You must read if you are, as I am, a believer seeking a better understanding of God' revalation to man.
