Disclaimer: this review might get long because there's so much I personally didn't like about the story, so here we go. The first thing I didn't like is how she made this book a story within a story; the overall story is inspired by an event in her personal life relating to cancer, and the story within that is the actual retelling of Tangled itself. Here's my problem with that: she could have made her personal story into a separate work instead of taking away from the Tangled retelling and interrupting the reading flow. It is also a bit self-centered considering as a writer you're supposed to appeal to one specific target audience, and instead she dismisses them to make her own personal story the focal point. So now this book appeals to two very different audiences and because of that the people that will actually enjoy this story will be few and far between. Also, the Disney retelling plot itself wasn't bad, but the new characters introduced were underdeveloped. Rapunzel's character was heavily exaggerated compared to the way she was portrayed in the movie, which makes her borderline annoying. There were also a lot of typos, which gave the book overall an amateur feel. This was probably the worst in the series to be honest.
