Such a Helpful, Well-Written Book!

Gloria Gaither had a brilliant idea --- get celebrities talking about their own family histories, discovering lessons they'd learned from their parents. You'll find humorous, wise, heart-warming stories on every page --- and if you're like us, you won't be able to put this book down! The chapter by Christian comedian Stephen Hicks was worth the whole price of the book. Thank you Gloria for giving us this excellent book about wise parenting. Affirms the positive influence of imperfect parents

Excellent book affirming the positive influence of imperfect parents. Regardless of your upbringing, there's probably at least one if not many examples from the text that you will relate to and reflect positively about. Scripture instructs us to focus on the excellent and praise worthy in life. This book's reflection by adults on what their parents did right helped me mature from a young boy to a man in that it started the process of focusing on how God used imperfect people (in this case my own mom and dad) for wonderful things. One thing that I particularly appreciate about this book is that it has real-world examples from the lives of traditional households, broken-homes, and single-parenting. In essence, I truly believe that regardless of a person's own history, something good will be gained by reading this.
