Great introduction so some difficult philosophers

I read this book in 1994, and soon afterwards gave it to my daughter, a college student, as a good introduction to thinking about philosophers. I have been using some of his descriptions, especially about Epictetus, in some of my writings ever since. It's not your average dull philosophy text. It shows some ways to actually apply these ideas to your life and thinking.

I haven't read it, but...

I had this man as an philosophy professor, and his class is by far the best college course I have taken. Never have I learned to think in so many different ways. Brad Art is one of the most unique and wonderful and absurd persons that I have ever met.
