Beautifully done, but tricky theology

Father Girzone's book explains with poetic imagery of places where God can be experienced firsthand, especially in the powerful various snapshots of nature and in graceful encounters with others. This book had me but for two things: first, his assertion of "God is the trinity in the light and the warmth of the sun; the Son, the Spirit, and the Father all in one." Here he jumps from everyday, universal experiences of God into an orthodox, theological definition of God without warning or buildup. Secondly, his theology works best when he's describing personal encounters with God. Unfortunately, he slips into a judgmental mode on the final page and instead describes others, rather than God: "...And if someone says they cannot see God in all of this, they must either violate the integrity of their own mind or be deaf to the voices of all creation that cry out so loudly from the womb of the universe." Of course not everyone experiences God the way that Father Girzone does, and his lovely book is blemished by his judgment on those who "cannot see God in all of this." Leslie Wu's illustrations are dazzling and colorful. This fine book, poetically written, is marred only by these two bumps. Otherwise, it is a work filled with beauty that would make a breathtaking gift for people of all ages and theological bents.

Simple and beautiful

This book can be read in 10 minutes or it can take an entire afternoon to read just one page. The words are simple but profound...."God is the immense power of the ocean and the infinite expanse of space,..."accompanied perfectly by beautiful illustrations. I love giving this book as gifts to young and old alike.

All Creation Speaks.

In this very simple and short, yet profound work, Girzone examines and explores how the divine imprint can be seen in all things. Yes, God is alive and well in the twenty-first century and He lets us know He's around through just about anything. Also, the illustrations that accompany the next are beautiful. This book is written so simple and straight forward that practically anyone can understand it's message and, therefore, it works quite well as a children's book.

simply wonderfull

Joseph Girzone has written one of the most simple yet thought provoking books on the nature of God i've ever read. It seems like a childrens' book at first in its simplicity, but it works on two levels - in simple words and in a deep, sort of pantheistic way of thinking that reveres the natural and emotional world as isepperable from the nature of God.
