Keeping them interested

I work with gifted children in a one -on -one situation. Some days its very difficult to keep their attention because they are generally 5 steps ahead of me. I have been using What If with a gifted 5th grader and its pace is just fast enough to keep her engaged. When we consider dropping a rock through a hole in the earth, she suggested using a rubber band to illustrate the effects of gravity. And the next box suggested that we do just that. It was great. Using this book directs our ramblings and gives us enough information to help us consider other similar situations. It is really great
