Great Book for Men to Read

I found this book to be extremely helpful in understanding how women feel. I have been married for over l2 years and love my wife but we get into some very heated arguments and sometimes it feels hopeless. Reading Dr. Vettese's book helped me feel less victimized by what happens in those times were everything feels out of control. I used some of the techniques and found them to be effective in dealing with my own hurt and anger. As a guy it isn't always easy to know what I am feeling let alone talk about it. Dr. Vettese makes it easier to connect with my wife when I am confused. thanks for writing such a great book! Herman G. Minneapolis

Reading this helped me recognize that I do Have a Prince

I loved this book because it reminded me again that I have been married to a Prince all these years [41]. Its nice to see him this way and realize how lucky I am. I also got some good tips from Sirah Vettese on improving my personal self esteem. The many exercises are excellent. MEN should read this too.

This book is helped me more than any other book I've read.

The honesty, depth of understanding and wisdom is far beyond any book I have ever read. Dr. Vettese has reached deep inside of me to places I have never visited. I feel stronger and more able to handle my relationship issues than ever before. The tools and wisdom are immense. I pick the book up regularly for help and guidance and simply to be reminded of what I need to know. I am truly grateful to Dr. Vettese for this information and will pass this book along to all my friends. Thank you!

For women ready to do the REAL work of relationship!

Dr. Vettese has written a compassionate, powerful book that leads women to their healing without shaming them for their wounds. While validating the frustration of loving a "difficult man", she repeatedly offers women the mirror of self-reflection and empowers them to grow and heal, thereby affecting change in their relationship. The self-help nature of this book puts the tools in your hands to start the healing now! Not just theory and intellectualizing, but real-life, down-to-earth exercises that begin the work immediately. I loved this book and bought it for my friends w/partners and those searching for the prince of their dreams. If they read it now--their prince may never need to grow green froggy bumps!

keeping a relationship vibrant from a woman's perspective

What Happened to the Prince I Married? - Spiritual Healing for a Wounded Relationship by Sirah Vettese, Ph.D.; published by Aslan Publishing; 204 pp., $14.95 trade paper. With testimonials from Marianne Williamson, Deepak Chopra, and Jack Canfield, Vettese's self-help book in the area of personal relationships holds out a lot of promise. By and large, it delivers on this. Vettese goes beyond guidance on how a woman can keep a relationship strong and vibrant to deal with her own, distinct, emotional growth and desires for self-respect and security in the context of the relationship. The coauthor of Lifemates - The Love Fitness Program for a Lasting Relationship and co-producer of audiotapes on health, Vettese teaches and leads seminars on relationships, spirituality, and health and well-being. As the subtitle of this book of hers implies, it takes up working through the pains and disillusions that are inevitable in a relationship and at times are even caused by it. But more broadly, it deals with the common vulnerabilities of the two persons in a relationship and the end of how the relationship can last and even flourish given these. With personal anecdotes, examples of individuals in relationships, and humane, relevant counsel, Vettese covers many sides of this reality of the vulnerabilities of the persons in a relationship. Thirty-five exercises for dealing with these many sides are highlighted in boxes. Vettese sensitively explores central realities that are troubling in most relationships and often lead to their break up, offering wise counsel and practical advice on how individuals, especially a woman, can deal with these so that their relationship holds together.review by Henry Berry Book Reviewer Editor/Publisher, The Small Press Book Review
