Universal Principles for Peace

In his book, What God Really Want You To Know, C. David Lundberg, a lifelong researcher of spirituality and religion, explores the universal principles common to the world's seven major religious traditions: Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. Lundberg asserts that there are 33 principles that can be found in the sacred texts of the all of the world's major religions and that these principles provide us with a "Master Code" of life and love. By applying the 33 principles to our daily lives, we can increase our flow of love and experience greater levels of peace, wisdom, success and joy. In What God Really Wants You To Know, Lundberg provides readers with a simple yet powerful tool to facilitate a personal relationship with God and increase their Divine consciousness. With our world currently in crisis, and people using religion as a basis for war and divisiveness, it is refreshing to read a book that strives to unite people by highlighting the commonalities and universal themes of the world's great religions. I highly recommend Lundberg's insightful and inspiring book.

A fine dive into the world of God that much of the world could do well remembering

With so much debate raging on about religion today, it's hard to remember the key values. "What God Really Wants You to Know: God's Universal Truths Shared by All World Religions" looks to cut through the nonsense of divisions of the world religions and tries to outline the truth by focusing on what values religions have in common. Buddhism, Christianity, Shinto, it doesn't matter; all promote the common elements of respect, love, and faithfulness. "What God Really Wants You to Know" is a fine dive into the world of God that much of the world could do well remembering.

Wonderful reading!

Firstly, I would like to thank the author, David Lundberg for writing this book. It is truly a gift! It was such a thrill to read. It's a book that should be read by everyone. I strongly feel that this book should be part of comparative religion programs in every school. I believe it will teach tolerance and love and will foster better relations amoung all people. It was such a joy to read. The message of love vibrated throughout. Thank you, David! You've made the world a better place by writing and publishing this wonderful book.

A refreshingly enlightened message from the West

This well-researched book is exemplary in both intent and lasting effect. Written from a Western religious orientation it carries a very Eastern message; one that I have been personally espousing since first awareness, being that world-peace can only evolve from individual enlightenment. It is the affairs of humanity that must conform to the nature of the divine, not the inverse. Labels are excellent teaching tools, and assist in the development of thought and understanding, but they are foul overlords, and must not be allowed to dominate thought processes, lest we end up a mindless and violent global society driven largely by spoon-fed marketing slogans. This would, of course be the exact opposite of the intent of establishing a religion (any religion). This book compares seven of the world's major religions (notably absent is any representation of the pagan religions, but given the lack of a central, unifying, all-encompassing set of scrolls, this is to be expected). Presented primarily in the language of Christianity (the author's host religious beliefs), the book provides a fair and balanced look at the core precepts of religion as a whole and points out with surprising clarity the point-by-point similarities of the transcendental message presented to the masses by the founders of each religion. Through "the word of God" each of 33 precepts is verified and validated by actual quotes from the holy scriptures of each religion examined. Each point is set in place using Christianity as a control, and compared against Islam, then Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, and finally Confucianism. For what it is, this book works. It does not pretend to be a messianic message destined to unite all religions into one conglomerate. It is a simple, well-thought out, plea to humanity and all religious believers to awaken to the "Truth" that "God," by whatever label or gender you address the divine, is smarter than all of us. "He" (to use the author's choice of designation) has placed many paths to the destination we are intended to arrive at, and each of these paths these been specifically created to cater to the needs and desires of the time and location of the people traversing the path. This overarching message illustrates a profound understanding of divinity; that it is not the method of travel by which one arrives, but the fact that one indeed ends up at the chosen destination at all which is of paramount importance. In a (global) society that has always valued beauty over substance in every conceivable aspect of life, this is tantamount to heresy. The statement that "God" loves all of us, not just the believers of this or that path, and that to reach "God" we need to actually follow the compassionate ways espoused by (His/Her) doctrines, is anathema to the constant drum beats of hatred and exclusionism practiced by so many "religious leaders" we encounter every day. This book subtly puts forth the notion that it is okay to approach the divine throu
