I came across this book in the throes of my bleak adolescence and it really did help me face life. As other reviewers have said, if every child were exposed to this book and its logical progression of simple truths... perhaps someday we really would awaken astounded by a new world... both sanguine and simultaneously exciting, full of possibility and freedom. (Boy, this sounds trite... but this really is a great little book of life.) I wish this book were back in print so more people could be exposed to it. I wonder whether the author and publisher would consider releasing it into the public domain?
Philosopher at age 7

Children become philosophers after they read this book. I suspect adults do also. If every kid got into this book right now, in 20 years there would be more peace on earth. Please read it; it's the most powerful and minimal book I've read.
A book for all ages that gets you thinking

I've had this book since I was a child in the late 1970's, and on occasion, I pull it out from the back of my bookshelf and read it, mostly to remember what it felt like to be a child in a world of wonderous things. An excerpt from the book: "If I am I because you are you and if you are you because I am I, then I am not I and you are not you. -Old Hassidic Saying". This book creatively reminds you how, and why, you go about tricking yourself into confusing reality with the illusion of reality. If you were me and I was you, I'd buy this book and read it.
