A Cute and Wonderful read...

I really liked this book, actually. Being a big fan of Paris,France, I just had to check this out from my local library. The narrator like the narrator in The Devil Wears Prada, Molly Clearwater is wonderful. She is such a delightment of reading. The book is fun and it is really easy to enjoy, but is rather dull at some points. Robyn Sisman descibes Molly easily, describing her everyday life and how she was like. Molly is a funny narrator and is filled with charm, finally discovering how life could be so fun as she takes her trip to Paris. Having a free trip to go to Paris, France with her boring boss, Malcolm Figg, she takes it and she discovers that he just wants to "Make-a-move-on-her" on the trip. So she takes the week and explores Paris on her own, having many good experiences as she discovers how life could be so beautiful when you're just living-it-out. If you're a big fan of traveling, this is a "Perfect" book to just read on a plane on your way overseas. This is highly recommended, along with Summer in the City, also written by Robyn Sisman. Great end to a great week!

I bought this book at Shakespeare & Co. in Paris. I read the book on the 9 hour flight home from Paris and could not put it down. I absolutely loved Molly's adventures through the City of Lights. If you've been to Paris, this novel will most definitly take you back. It was great to relive some of the adventures I experienced during my trips to Paris through Molly's adventures, such as the rollerskaters and the Rodin museum. If you're a traveller, a romantic, or both, you'll love this book!!!

Any time is a good time for Paris

Molly Clearwater is smart, beautiful and sexy. Only she doesn't know it yet. However, once she decides on the impulsive and travels to Paris on her own, her adventures in the City of Light will transform her the way traveling in unknown territory so often does. Sisman clearly knows the affect traveling has on a person and she pens a tale of a sweet and loveable innocent being educated by a weekend in Paris. Sisman's descriptions of the city are so tangible that it isn't necessary to have been to Paris to know what it's like when you first see the Eiffel Tower, to feel the summer sunshine and smell the café au lait and baguettes wafting from side walk cafes. The story totally bounces off the page and you are immediately drawn into Molly's story of youth, growing up, family, friendships, strangers, travel and the beauty of believing in yourself. My review of this book does not do it justice in any way. Please read it to discover how sweet, encouraging, uplifting and vitalizing it is for yourself.

Fast and unpredictable

Adventures abound and in a short weekend, Molly learns a lot about herself and what she really wants. I was entertained by the unpredictable events as well as the character development that took place. The descriptions of being in a foreign place were also very good. It was a nice relief from the chick lit where you can guess the ending half way through the book.

If you love Paris and love life's surprises

This is the first Robyn Sisman book I have had the pleasure to read but it won't be the last. Each hour presents a new revelation to the heroine, about Paris, about strangers, about her family, and in the end about her own character. Her love affair with the city mirrors the reaction of every 21-year-old who falls for Paris, but her transition from frumpy, staid, safe young girl to a daring, cheeky, and warm lass who embraces not only the city but strangers and life is as heart-warming as it is fast-paced. The outrageous characters she meets along the way keep the story fresh. And yet it isn't outlandish, but surprisingly familiar to one who lived in Paris as a young student 40 years ago. Ms. Sisman is a fabulous wordsmith and story-teller.
