This is a short story book with an African rural setting. It is a story about two families that lived in a village called Kabaray. The two families were cordially connected but this relationship was damaged due to selfishness. The two families were the Bankoloh and Yikiban families. The bread winner (Mr. Bankoloh) was so selfish that he almost destroyed the metual relationship that existed between his family and Yikiban's family. When his wife understood that later, she served as a bridge to connect the two families again though she lost two of her children due to their misunderstanding.
