First: ignore the picture on the front and back of the book. Jeff is 24 and in the pictures doesn't even look old enough to shave and is wearing a cowboy hat several sizes too big. While part of the SPEAR series this book is mostly a love story. I don't normally like books from only one person's point of view, but it was perfect in this one. When his wife, a fellow SPEAR agent, is injured in a bomb blast young doctor, Jeff, rushes to her side. As Tish lies in a coma Jeff talks to her about how they met, fell in love and secretly married which is interwoven with flashbacks. Afraid Jeff didn't really love her and will hurt her, as a previous man did, and concerned about the 12 year age difference, Tish has tried to distance herself from Jeff but her love for him kept bringing her back. I didn't think the age difference and the difficulties involved were explored enough. But the main reason I gave it a 4 instead of a 5 was the very end. I thought the decision she made was completely out of character and I lost some respect for her. But it's definitely well worth the read.
#10 ? IN THE SPEAR SAGA?

Number 10 alright! Just not much in the action of the SPEAR saga.We meet again, Jeff's adopted father, East Kirby and learn that East and Ally have a little daughter.I rated it a 4 star as the story was very well dramatized but I hate to say it but I couldn't wait to get done with it.I guess I expected more of Jeff Kirby, who at 24 is coming into his prime and with his background and training from East he would be a bit more aggressive.Tish Buckner, at 36, was a little too career oriented at first and wanted to put off having children for a few years. Yikes! what was she thinking with? She doesn't have that much time.Story was alright but ----- It was an OH well, book! Cover does a lot to co-incide with the story - He looks about 24 -- Not my most favorite book.Well, onto the next in the SPEAR saga #11 - CINDERELLA'S SECRET AGENT by Ingrid Weaver and the SPEAR agent, Del Rogers - here's hoping.
