Roots from Mt. Judea Boy

Way Back When I suppose if you have relatives from Mr. Judea and the area, you will love this book. It was fun reading about relatives and some of the local stories. Fun stuff.

awsom

this book was great it had a lot of information about newton county i didnt know about. it told me how my great great great grandfather alfred smith died. i never knew this. my family lived on the other creek and i didnt know that red rock people called their creek big creek and the judy people called thier creek big creek and which ever place you were from the other was the other creek. it told exactly the way it was i asked grandma about some stuff and she said that was exactly how it was. i really liked the part when he found out his name wasnt even james carl but fredick and then he found out that he might not even be a hefley. that sounds about right. i think this book would make a good movie. we need more good family shows on tv.i thought the best part was when he was arguing with his wife about her being a yankie and then found out that most every one on big creek was fighting for the union. i wounder what thoes yankies thought about our launguage? im glad he wrote his book the way people really talked back then. when i finally sat down and read the book way back when i then got way back in the hills and way back in the ozarks and have finished one of the books and half way through the other. these books really opened my eyes and showed me the way it was in newton county.im no longer embaresed about the way my family talkes and where we came from. thanks james carl
