Biggs presents 31 practical, inviting watercolor lessons, divided into four sections: color and value, space and shape, line and form, and texture. This description may be from another edition of this product.
This review is not about the book, which seems to be informative and worthwhile. This review is about the fact that even though this book was sold in “Acceptable” condition, it is missing the first 52 pages of instruction. Being that this book is meant to layer taught techniques, having the first 12 of them missing renders the whole of the remaining text mostly useless. So, buyer beware, you may be purchasing an “acceptable” item that is only acceptable for the recycling bin.
Best money I ever spent on a watercolor book!!

This book is a super book for the beginning watercolorist. Each chapter presents a new technique, has a project to do using clear explanations, offers guidelines for critiquing your finished work and encourages creativity. It's a wonderful outline for mastering basic techniques. It provides just the right amount of challenge, and I know I'm a better artist today because of it. This book gives you a wonderful foundation for painting techniques.
