First let me say that anything written by this author is a tribute to those who enjoy historical fiction with romantic characters. This book is yet another great example of her unique settings and wonderful characters. It takes you through the life of a "pugilist" and his struggle to champion the boxing rings of that time. This talent and ambition for the sport derives from his drive to make a financial success for himself and have the woman that he desires. Does he realize who that is?He is beset with family problems, challenges from the "higher" society of the time, and his own destructive drive to succeed at everything. Rosalind Laker has given us many gems and this is one to add to my collection!
