Husband is a big fan but...

My husband is a big fan of Mr. Johnstone & I've read most of his books when I run out of my own. *G* Normally, I find them an engrossing read, kinda like eye candy. This book, though, I found a huge "error." On page 248 the scene that follows where they're trying to assinate Ben Raines is the SAME SCENE (except for some name changes) as on page 105 in Crisis in the Ashes. What happened here, Mr. Johnstone???? It's still an fun read & I would recommend it. While it can be a "stand alone" it's much more fun to start off w/the entire series.

Finally back on track

After the last few books in this series I thought that Mr. Johnstone was getting tired of this series, the stories were draging on and on. But after this book I think that he has gotten his second wind for this series. this book has a lot of the old style of writing I enjoyed in the series when I started reading it years ago, lots of action and suspense. The book is the next one in the story of Osterman and her plans to get rid of Ben Raines and the S.U.S.A. and the lengths she will go to to get her way. the fighting is in the style of books in the series like Valor in the Ashes and others of that time.

He's Back!

Mr. Johnstone has, finally, returned to writing the kind of novel that attacted be to him many years ago. His latest effort is interesting, well written and attention getting. His attention to detail and character description is, as one would expect from him, excellent. An exciting new book that more than makes up for his last effort.
