Just the right size

Some devotional books seem to have meditations that are too short--just when I am ready to follow the author, she or he ends. Others have meditations that seem to be meant only for cloistered monks--they take hours to read and digest. What I really liked about "Walking on Water" was the perfect size of each meditation (about a page and a half), and the way that it was easy to get into the feel of the author quickly. Every meditation seemed to be built inductively--I was captured by a theme each time, but didn't feel the impact until the last few lines. This is a great book!

Fresh Devotional

This is a great devotional book! I've used many devotional books, but this is among the best I've ever found--fresh, inspiring, interesting, filled with lots of stories and practical applications. And the short prayers are wonderful, helping me say just the things I need to say to God.
