A must read for fans of vampire romances!

Dixie LePage has just found out that she's the sole heir of her two great aunts who lived in Bringham, England. Her grandmother had broken from her family when she married and moved to America. She always called her sisters witches but Dixie didn't know she meant that literally. Dixie decides to travel to Bringham to see for herself just what she's inherited. When she arrives, a smarmy man tries to pick her up at the airport. She discourages him and finally finds a place where she can rent a small car reasonably. Then she gets the run around while trying to not only see Orchard House but trying to fix it up in anticipation of either living there or selling it. Sebastian Caughleigh, her great-aunt's lawyer, does everything in his power to discourage Dixie from even staying. He has a hidden agenda going on that he most especially doesn't want Dixie finding out about. It could ruin everything he's ever strived for. His nephew James as well as several women in the neighborhood is all in on trying to discourage Dixie from wanting to stay. Then Dixie meets Christopher Marlowe. As she gets to know him, she finds that she's falling in love with him. What she doesn't know is that Christopher is `THE' Christopher Marlowe and he's a 400-year-old vampire. What in world will Dixie do when she figures out this little detail? This campy, seductive and downright fun vampire novel was an irresistible read. I simply could not put it down once I started reading it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and cannot wait to read the sequel to this most intriguing book! Kathy Boswell, The Best Reviews

Suite101 - Vampire eBook Authors focuses on Rosemary Laurey

This books begins like an English cozy. Dixie LePaige, all alone in the world, out of work, abandoned by a cad of a fiancee, arrives in a small English village to claim an inhertiance. Strange things begin to happen, little things that escalate into murder, but being a spunky American heroine, Dixie refuses to be scared away. It doesn't sound much like a vampire novel, but the hero Christopher Marlowe happens to be the Kit Marlowe, playwright and contemporary of William Shakespeare.Rosemary Laurey has written very detailed and well thought out vampires. These are traditional vampires, they can't enter the house unless invited, don't reflect in mirrors, are exceptionally strong and fast, can control people minds, change into bats or other creatures, and fly. As a lover of the vampire, I especially enjoyed the look into what happens when you become a vampire, the challenges of adapting. Walk in Monlight was a thoroughly enjoyable book, stasifying in both story and vampires. I look forward to reading more from this author. For an interview with Rosemary Laurey and a longer review check out Suite101.com.

Extract from WIM review printed in Eroticus magazine

...Our heroine is Dixie LePage, a librarian who inherits the estate of her deceased great-aunts, and decides it is the perfect opportunity to flee America and the fiancé who jilted her. Despite her land and new-found wealth, Dixie finds that life in the town of Bringham isn't as quaint and simple as it might seem. At first she is able to pass things off to herself as unlucky coincidences which are nothing to do with her at all, but as she discovers more about the residents - past and present - of Bringham, and about her own family history, she realises she is in quite deep water - then someone starts making attempts on her life. As if finding out about a rather blotchy past weren't enough, Dixie also finds herself falling in love with Christopher Marlowe (yes, that Christopher Marlowe), 400 years her senior, a vampire with a conscience. Some people just get all the excitement. Dixie's enthusiastic courtship of Christopher - and his response, marred by her mortality - provides the backbone and romance of the story, and is one of the best aspects of the book. Walk in Moonlight is essentially a mystery/romance, but Laurey has created Dixie as an antidote to the type of heroine that usually (and unfortunately) populates novels of either genre. She is independent in the realistic sense, not in the sense of being independent until a big, strong man comes along. She is also smart, strong, gutsy, and easy to identify with - a real woman. The book's moments of humour come from Dixie's strength and the culture shock it gives to the vampires she starts associating with; Laurey makes several good points about how a strong woman is still so confronting to patriarchal culture (alive and undead), without attempting to be too political about it. Walk in Moonlight is a first-class work - engaging, amusing, entertaining, unpredictable and sexy. Get yourself a copy and be prepared to be seduced by the sharply-drawn characters, the rich occult subplot, the suspense, and the eroticism. Highly original whilst at the same time managing to stay faithful to the vampire/fantasy and thriller genres, it is one of the best books I have read in a long time.

Best new Vampire Saga of the year!

Contemporary American Dixie LePage gets more than she bargained for when she travels to England to inspect the house she's inherited from her two unscrupulous great-aunts. There she meets two unusual men who both express interest in the contents of her library.......................and her.Dixie's solicitor, Sebastian Caughleigh is in fact the leader of a corrupted wiccan cult. Unknown to Dixie, her two great-aunts had been witches as well, with powers that they used alternately to help the villagers.....and to blackmail them. It is presumed that somewhere in that library lurks the ledger that will make Sebastian's fortune. He will stop at nothing, not even murder to obtain those secrets. He would prefer to send Dixie packing ASAP.The other man is Christopher Marlowe, Kit for short, is interested in obtaining the literature her library contains. Kit is a vampire. What is interesting here is that Christopher Marlowe truly lived at one time. He was a contemporary of William Shakespeare, his death at an early age is shrouded in mystery lending credibility to the scenario portrayed so skillfully by Ms. Laurey. Walk In Moonlight blends fiction, fact, humor and romance to create a wholly believable tale. For their own protection the vampire community keeps itself separate from the human race. Kit's contemporaries include his contemporary in life Thomas Kyd, and an ancient named Justin who created Kit. Both are interesting enough to warrant sequels. While Sebastian is all too mortal, Kit cannot enter Dixie's home without an invitation. He must cultivate Dixie in order to obtain one, but he had not expected to be so taken with the lovely American. Of course he realizes that a relationship is not possible, he believes that Dixie would be appalled if she knew of his true nature. He does a remarkable job of fooling her but certain things just don't add up. He is also aware of Sebastian's interest and has reason to dislike the man. Before he knows what's hit him, he finds himself in the role of her protector. Unfortunately Sebastian is on to him as well and Kit finds that he is unable to protect himself.Sebastian doesn't appeal to Dixie in the least. Kit is a different story. The more time she spends with him the more she comes to care. Sebastian's greed goes beyond the book belonging to Dixie's deceased relatives, he knows exactly what Kit is and believes by destroying him, he will gain Kit's power for himself. He believes he has succeeded and in truth he very nearly does. But Ms. Laurey turns the tables quite cleverly as the protected becomes the savior. Dixie, faced with the evidence of her beloved's true nature, is the only one who can rescue Kit from a fate far worse than the death he's already experienced.Sebastian's plot takes a further twist as he goes on a killing spree, implicating Kit, who naturally has disappeared. Now the only one who stands between him and his goal is Dixie. Will she become the next victim or can Kit and Dixie find a wa

WALK IN MOONLIGHT by Rosemary Laurey

Being a vampire fan since I was just a kid, I had a ball reading this treat from Rosemary Laurey. It's all about vampires, a coven of witches and a mystery in a small English town.Things get hopping when Dixie LePage finds out she has inherited a house in the quaint English village of Bringham and meets up with smooth operator Sebastian Caughleigh, a lawyer you would love to kill after you get to know him, along with his nephew James, the supreme lay-about. Dixie contacts Sebastian about seeing to her property and money left to her by her two deceased great-aunts who had been blackmailing everybody and their grandmother in town for years. While in the local pub, The Barley Mow, with Sebastian, Dixie meets an unusual man who is sexy as hell and wears a black leather eye patch. Christopher Marlowe intrigues her right away when he tells her he'd like to buy some books on the occult from her library. She invites him over the next day to take a look at them, and they are drawn to one another in friendship as well as sensually. Wow! There is a lot about Christopher that puzzles Dixie, and everything is not what it seems. Someone is searching Dixie's house at night, Sebastian wants her to sell her house and move back to America, and then there is the fact that someone is trying to kill her, and she wants to know why? Then Christopher is missing. What the heck is going on? Then Dixie discovers the truth: Christopher is a vampire! This quiet little village is exploding with sex, intrigue and murder and Dixie is right in the center of all this mayhem. Peyton Place in England! The more I got into this book and the characters the more I liked it. Darn, I was in the middle of a scary situation of being up close and personal in the lives of vampires and one courageous American woman who was determined to get to the bottom of what was going on in this English village come hell or high water. To complicate matters she has fallen in love with a vampire! (So did I!!) Dixie is wonderfully funny, innovative and adorable. Christopher is strong, handsome and hopelessly in love with Dixie, but it's an impossible situation. How will it all turn out? Why not buy a copy and enjoy all the fun I did! Excellent story line and terrific characters. I'm looking forward to more midnight adventures! If you like vampires, this is the book for you!
