geared for research

A historical and scholarly tour of African diaspora often referring to books and journals from the 1800s and beyond. Narratives and attitudes are candid to the time they are written in. Williams includes in the first chapter how ophiolatry informs Voodoo belief and practice which is important to mention because the title doesn't suggest snake worship. I didn't expect this but was surprise how much I didn't know about it. Not a very fluid book but abundant in references and historic detail that are important.
