Good book, but it's time for a review

For a book published in October of 98, this is an excellent book, as the author probably used materials from the first quarter or so of that year. However, VoIP technologies have developed very quickly, its time for a review!

All you need for an overall understanding of VoIP

This is a great overall book. Clearly it is not for the techies, as their reviews attest. However, it provides a good review of the IP technologies delivering VoIP, as well as VoIP's technologies.

Excellent overall coverage of VoIP technologies

This book provides a good overview of VoIP, from technology to products. It also discusses the infrastructure issues challenging its development.

A Very Informative Book

This is a very informative book. Perhaps the author's mistake was to pack so much information into a single book, which seem to have prevented him from offering more in-depth analysis of the topics. Nonetheless, this book provides the bases and the pilars for an understanding of VoIP and the technologies it evolves. It was worth the investment. Hey, if you don't like it, just return it! But you won't know if you don't try it. :-)

Good Take Home Information on VoIP

Bottom Line: Goncalves examine the VoIP technology and its trend very clearly and distill its potential successful adoption into practical scenarios for non-technical executive like me. The book was very useful as an executive summary of the technology, where to go from here and what to watch for.
