This book covers it all, from very introductory chapters (defining properties) to MAPI and advanced web features of Visual Basic 6.0. The book is well written (the author has a sense of humor) and moves at a fairly slow pace. Not all the code in the book works, but it's better than most other books I've seen - plus the CD contains all the source code. I didn't rely on the free help from their web site, but I did take all the quizzes on-line, and now I'm in the process of getting college credit from Marquette University. How else can you study at your own pace and end up getting college credits??
An Excellent Book! A really Excellent Book!

Out of four people on my team, I gave two of them this book to learn vb, and the other 2 a different book. Needless to say, the results were far better than I expected since they now feel very comfortable using VB, and we are going to use this book extensively until something better comes along. I really wanted something more technically written, and I thought this one was too friendly at first glance, but the results are more than satisfactory. The book is very big, though.
Great Hands-On mixed with Reference

I've reviewed over 15 other books looking for a beginner VB6 curriculum for students and this book beats the others easily. There is as much or more coverage of new VB6 features than any of the other books published by this date, it includes code samples for all exercises, and is backed up by a dedicated website. Although there are still many typos in the code listings, this book is an excellent hands-on approach to VB6.
A great learning tool

The book is well written and easy to follow. With step by step hands on exercises you cannot help but come to grips with Visual Basic 6 and object oriented programming. The cherries on the cake are the small hands on exercises, given at the end of each lesson. For those that read on beyond the exercise, the solutions become even easier. A Highly recommended text..... Steve Simon
An A+ book that covers practically all the new VB6 features.

This book is an excellent compliment to its predecessor, Visual Basic 5 Interactive course, with none of the typos (yeash! There were a ton of those in the last one). It seems the change to a different publisher has made difference. The last chapters are the most informative, showing how to use the MAPI control and of course, DHTML. I found this book much better than the first one by far! A+!
