Excellent sequel!

The year 1888 has just gotten a bit more complicated for Time Rover Jacynda "Cynda" Lassiter. Harter Defoe, the legendary Time Rover, is in the midst of a Time Incursion Warning of gigantic proportions. Cynda finds herself in the dubious position of searching for Defoe while her very freedom in 2057 is at stake. Meanwhile, history is going awry in other ways. Will Cynda's mission affect her friends, Jonathan Keats and Alastair Montrose? VIRTUAL EVIL picks up right where SOJOURN ends. VIRTUAL EVIL is much better appreciated in the context of the series as the characters and their relationships are already established. In addition, the plotline builds upon the events from SOJOURN. Readers new to the storyline may feel like they are missing various pieces of the storyline as a result. However, fans of the series will appreciate how smoothly the books transition from one to the next. The history and mystery of the Transitives really begins taking shape in VIRTUAL EVIL! Jana G. Oliver adds a lot of depth to the new race she created in SOJOURN. She uses their ability to go en mirage to its full extent, giving readers a much clearer picture about how the Transitives operate. I particularly liked the insights into The Conclave as well as the descriptions of the various types of Transitives and their abilities. VIRTUAL EVIL is just an all around spectacular read. From the vivid pictures of the time periods of 1888 and 2057 to the crisp character development, Jana G. Oliver simply writes one heck of a great book! Highly recommended! Masterful Sequel

Jana Oliver is certainly an ambitious writer. Luckily for us, she's also remarkably talented and original. This second book in a projected three book time travel series includes many of the same interesting characters that we met in Sojourn, along with some new ones. Two different time periods are the settings--Victorian England and not too far into our future. Both are vivid, real worlds. The storytelling is highly imaginative and compelling, and the novels are complex and complicated. In less talented hands, this could have turned into a frustrating, confused mess. Instead, Jana has provided a rewarding reading experience.

ANOTHER WINNER

Jana Oliver has create another winner in VIRTUAL EVIL. A fantastic sequel to SOJOURN this one is just as delightful and intriging and keeps you guessing all the way through. Can't wait for the next installment.

An Excellent Sequel

As second book in the Time Rover series, Virtual Evil, continues the excellent storytelling that was started in the first title Sojourn. Having many different genre elements give the story a unique twist that I have found very enjoyable. Readers who enjoyed the first book should definately pick this title up. And will defiantely pick up the third installment of the the series when it comes out in the fall of '08

Virtual Evil, the second of the Time Rovers series is an intruiging sequel to Sojurn. Full of mystery. Our Jacynda steps into one growing mystery after another, both in 1888 and 2057. No character is immune from the evil. Determining who is the enemy is not only something for Cynda to determine but also the reader. Virtual Evil will leave you demanding a third and perhaps a fourth book of the series.
