The Reality of Criminal Code/Constitution Interpretation

The book is one of the most readable books addressing our criminal courts. Tucker makes a clear case that our constitution has been distorted by serial court decisions to the point it no longer protects the average citizen. Victims are left with little recourse while the criminal (that made them victims) has a wealth of protection, fr4om their question, evidence, arrest, appearances, his/her original trial, throughout their sentence and for years beyond. If you ever have been irate at a court outcome or how prisoners are treated, this is the book for you. Too bad its out of publication--this book needs to be updated and read by you, your neighbors and anyone planning to vote. The judges we elect are the ones who form "judicial interpretation" on every level.

Clear thinking, well researched

I bought a used book which had been marked as "withdrawn" from a public library. Apparently, a well-researched academic analysis of crime & justice in America, with logical conclusions drawn, was way too much common sense for the librarians at the Citrus County Library, whichever state that's in. (Florida?) Though published in 1985, most of the information and opinion is applicable today -- more so! The author deserves accolades for this excellent examination of actual incidents involving crime, victims, the courts, and the frustrations of the public which sometimes spills out in celebrated Vigilante action -- though vigilanteeism is NOT what the author recommends. He merely examines it with scholarly understanding. Tucker is an author worth reading, and I am now keeping a weather eye out for other books and articles by him.
