Janie decides not to tell Paul about the message she saw on his phone. She also does not remind him that he claimed not have a sister when they first met. When Paul told her this, she wanted to believe that he was telling the truth. Over time, she forgets about it and begins her plans to move in with Paul and renovate a much larger barn on the property to move her Rescue Center closer. As Janie is putting away her things, she finds a box hidden in the back of the closet with baby clothes, which makes Janie remember the message on Paul's phone. Not wanting Paul to think she is snooping, she puts them back, refusing to believe Paul is anything but honest. Deciding to rent out her house, Janie puts an ad in the paper. A woman by the name of Paige Greely answers it to rent the house, saying she was taking a year off to write a novel. After Paige moves in, Janie finds it odd that she never goes out anywhere and keeps turning down Janie's invites for dinner. After the Rescue Center is moved into the newly renovated barn, Janie is working when Paige comes in and asks Janie if her invitation for dinner was still open. Paige decided she needs to get out more and be with people. Elated that Paige is finally going to come for dinner, she sees Paul walk in to check on a dog and is finally happy the two are going to meet. However, their reaction when they do meet is not what Janie expected. Discovering that the two actually know each other, the mystery slowly begins to unravel, and Janie slowly begins to learn the truth about Paul. Will Janie's love for him be strong enough to allow her to stand beside him and fight for what's hers?
