I used to know Gail Brewer and her daughter Cornelia, Thomas, Elizabetha, and Francesca. We carpooled with them in 4th grade. Gail was earning a graduate degree at UCSF as a brave single mom and my dad brought over pizza one day when my mom was in France. Her family was awesome and she treated me like her own daughter. I always remembered her kindness and appreciated her stories that she shared on the way to school. She told us the story about how her grandfather grew tomatoes in a green house and would extend the growing season by heating up the soil. She taught us that it pays to be clever. Mrs Brewer took us to see the A's play baseball for Cornelia's birthday party and took us shopping with her at the mall. Cornelia was alot of fun and I remember laughing with her at the pumpkin halloween party favors.
