Granted, it's not a trashy tell all biography but is rather humble and gentle at times. You have to love the character behind the screen. Elizabeth Dawn born as Sylvia Butterfield is best known in Leeds and Manchester in Northern England where she lives. The role of Vera Duckworth is one of the most memorable television roles ever on British television. Sadly, she has to walk away from her Coronation Street family because of her illness. She was also a constant smoker and has significant breathing problems which makes it difficult to walk. Of course, the show and the cast, friends, and relatives have made her situation with kindness, gentleness, compassion and love to have her on the show. She writes about Bill Tarmey, her real-life marriage, and her children as well. She is an unforgettable legacy of Coronation Street and one of the old-timers who we miss seeing much at all.
