Action Packed

Vanished in the Mountains by Tanya Stowe is a stand-alone Love Inspired Suspense book. Domestic violence counselor Dulcie Parker feels the need to help those that can’t help themselves. When she uncovers evidence of a human trafficking ring in her area, she knows she must help even if she dies in the process. She turns to Deputy Sheriff Austin Turner for help, can they solve the case before the gang strikes again? When the story first started it was almost as if it was a continuation of another story. There was talk of a previous case etc. Other than that, it was a great pulse-pounding story. Dulcie was a likeable character even though she was a wimp when it came to reacting to trouble. Even though Dulcie and Turner had problems they were able to work through them and come out stronger in the end! I received this book from Celebrate-Lit for my honest review.

Fast-paced action

Tanya Stowe knows how to set the atmosphere for fast-paced, intense suspense and her newest offering is no exception. Dulcie, a social worker and counselor for victims of domestic violence, is being targeted for meddling in the wrong people's affairs. She's stubborn, tenacious, and passionate about her work but her past prevents her from getting too close to anyone. Austin is a grieving deputy who's poured everything he has into his work so that he doesn't have to face his broken heart and empty home. Surrounded by reservation land and people bent on evil ways, Dulcie and Austin must work together to unravel the mystery behind the missing women while trying to stay one step ahead of those hunting them down. I enjoyed learning about the Navajo culture and their way of life. Austin's second chance at love is sweet though fraught with danger. Austin and Dulcie's faith journey is realistic and heartfelt. I received the book via Celebrate Lit Tours and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are solely my own.
