Before buying this book, I was wondering what could have been packed in it to make it around 600 pages more than the average HTML books I have read so far.....When I got it in my hands and started perusing its pages, I got the feeling that I have got back every penny spent on it ! The best book on HTML I have come across and it should be your HTML's reference book from now on.
This book should be required text for all future HTML'ers

I bought this book before I had a computer in my home. However, by the time I had finished the second chapter, I was already composing web pages in my head. Lee Anne does an excellent job of introducing the ins and outs of correct HTML coding. Not only does she bring you up to par with todays coding standards but, she uses keen far-sight to prepare you for the nuances and ever evolving standards of the web. If you are searching for a straight-as-an-arrow approach to web page building, then I highly recommend this book.

I have read at least 10 books on HTML and this is far and away the best!!!! With an excellent lay out and format, Lee Anne Phillips starts at square one and progresses to more advanced topics. You will not get bored or lost with this book. Co-Author Bill vernon's support and interest is the best seen to date! If you want a homepage, buy this book!!
Concise, and answers the right questions at the right time

This is a very good book. The authors have done an excellant job of explaining HTML, yet have maintained an unusual degree of conciseness for a book this large.I used information from the first twelve chapters to redesign my website. The explanations of tables and frames, in particular, where a good match for my current level of expertise. Not a lot of fluff to read through--just meat. I was able to make use of both features just after reading a few pages. As I read through each chapter, the authors answered the right questions at the right times. If the remaining 34 chapters are as well done as the first 12, my money will have been well spent.
A great guide to HTML

As a relative beginner, this book has been an absolute god-send. The author manages to be both informal and informative, providing an easily accessible yet highly comprehensive body of work that avoids the overly jocular tones that often crop up in this sort of publication. The first few chapters will drag for all but the total beginner. However these are essential in providing a solid foundation and lead you with ease in to later, more complicated territories. From hear, the authors take you effortlessly in to the less accessible areas of web development. Definitely worth the investment.
