Great debut mystery and funny as h-ll

There are three competing daytime talk shows broadcasting from New York. Paula Live, Tell Tonya, and Simon Says all want to capture the viewing audience. Single mother May Morrison loves her job as a producer of Paula Live even though she seems to never have enough time in the day to do everything she needs to accomplish. May's stress level leaps when one of the producers of Simon Says dies by jumping out of a window. Detective Paradisoe fingers May as the perpetrator for no apparent reason. As other producers die, his belief solidifies. His partner Detective Paul O'Donnell cannot accept that a harried mother with babysitting problems is guilty of any crime. He feels that someone is trying to frame May and, if that fails, makes her the next victim. Take a dose of Abbot and Costello or Laurel and Hardy and place it in a nineties murder mystery to obtain the feel of UP NEXT. This delightful serio-comic tale will have readers laughing at the antics of the TV producers. May is a nineties heroine, overworked and overstressed, but keeps on ticking. This first May Morrison amateur detective story brings a new talent, Nancy Star, to the forefront of the sub-genre, a place she is bound to stay for quite awhile.Harriet Klausner
