Faith and Social Justice

This book provides excellent insight into the Christian obligation to touch the lives of the urban poor in America. These authors describe their own struggles and journeys in the midst of learning to live among and work with the poor in inner city Memphis, TN. As Micah describes in 6:8, God requires us to "do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God." There is no better book to echo this challenge and take up the mantle of social justice.

Great real life experiences, examples and insights!

This book provides real world experience, examples and insights of how to understand and minister to those in need. It is clear that the stories and ideas in this book are based on many years of experience working with the poor. It was very helpful to me to learn more about the poor and to learn practical ways to get involved to help them. If you are thinking about starting to work in ministry for the poor reading this book will be a great help in that journey.

Every church leader needs to read this book.

This book has some great examples of how to reach out to the poor and the inner-city. It should be in the library of every church leader and in the heart of every christian. Too often we see a problem and don't do anything because we are not sure how. This book has some very basic lessons on what it takes and how to do the ministry we need to be doing as christians.
