The first two illustrations make this book a treasure.

The pencil drawings that make up this book are very good, especially in capturing catness. The first two drawings, where a butterfly is transformed into a cat's face, are breathtaking. Such a humble scale and such a perfect effect. I tried to photocopy it to send it to a friend, but it didn't come out because the fine pencil work is such an integral part of the drawing. Well worth looking for.
