All parents should read and understand how this book can work for their parenting skills.

Sensible and Accessible

This author truly understands adolescents and has seen the downside of teenagers who fall in love. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist so she speaks with real authority. She claims teens who fall in love will want to make love, so if parents want to help teens remain abstinent, they need to help them stay out of romantic relationships. It sounds like an impossible task, but Smith makes a brilliant case for friends-only relationships for high school students. She explains how high school romance can lead not only to sexual intimacy, but it can lead to estrangement from parents, poor academic performance, damaged self-esteem, and ultimately failed marriages. Any parent or adult leader who is concerned about teenage pregnancy, or depression among teens will find this book a wonderful guide.
