Good referance book

This book is great as a referance. Don't buy this is your looking for a step by step book. This book has ALOT of commands and shows you all the options associated with that command. It also has a few shells and certain shortcuts you can exacute within that shell. Overall its great as a referance. If you want to find out what a command does, just flip through the book.

Excellent for all levels

An excellent quick reference with good short examples. I have several other Unix books but I always come back to this one. A good complement to this book is "Essential System Administration" by Frisch. Together they will give you ample information specially if you are a beginner Unix Systems Admin like I was. The nutshell book is a must have in any Unix user's library.

A must have for UNIX users!

When I first started using UNIX at work, I bought several thick heavy books, but it turned out that this small nutshell was the one I kept going back to over and over. It has short, nicely organized, and right-to-the-point information about all the commands and scripting.

A lot of useful info in a small space

A good book is nice, but a good, concise book is a treasure. That's what "UNIX in a Nutshell" is. It's the first place I go for the "five cent tour" of UNIX commands or utilities. The examples are excellent. Highly recommended for intermediate and advanced users.

A Book with Difference

Even gone thru the book before buying which realised that what I have been missing for last six years a compact and complete reference of UNIX. Three cheers for writer and publishers.
