E.) - Greek historian, statesman and military leader, author of "Universal History" ("Story ") in 40 volumes, covering events in Rome, Greece, Macedonia, Asia Minor and elsewhere from 220 BC. e. 146 BC. e. . From "History" is completely preserved, only the first five, the others came in more or less detailed presentation. Other works of Polybius did not survive. Based on the teachings of the Stoics of anticipation, it came to the history of metaphysics, which is considered as the last struggle of the peoples and individuals against the power of fate.
