Pathetic main characters

The two main characters are flat and lack emotion and substance. Mark, the male character, is a pathetic, pushy, condescending man who thinks he knows more than the female character, Gina. He doesn't respect a relationship she is currently in. If he was supposed to be a "player", then I can see that. But he's supposed to be this upright, polished, honorable man in the Navy; he comes across as everything but. Gina is a wimp who can't make up her mind. She strikes me as being a little mouse who is scared to do anything without someone's approval. Frail. Spineless. The research Henderson put into the book is amazing. I found the facts very interesting. I've read this book multiple times, hoping to see if differently, but I never do. It's still the worst book I've ever read by Dee Henderson. And yet I know I'll read it again...hoping, because I like the thought of the book and what I know she intended to write and get across.
