Short, simple, but educational

The author definitely delivered a book that is short, easy to read, and educational about stocks. As he says, understanding stocks is not that hard. What is hard is how to make money in stocks. This book covers topics such as understanding prices, analyzing stocks, knowing where to buy stocks, and understanding investment strategies. Readers can find different strategies for different time horizons. For example, there is a chapter dedicated to investors who want to grow wealth slowly, and another chapter for those who are in a hurry to make money. The analysis of stocks includes fundamental analysis and technical analysis. In Chapter 15, the author lists mistakes that investors make which causes them to lose money in the market. Some of the mistakes include not selling losing positions, letting winning stocks become losers, getting too emotional, and not learning from mistakes. Readers will find most of the information presented in this book useful. - Mariusz Skonieczny, author of Why Are We So Clueless about the Stock Market? Learn how to invest your money, how to pick stocks, and how to make money in the stock market

Great book -- I rate it 5 stars.

I am a finance major and wanted a quick overview of the stock market. This book was fantastic. It covered more material than any other book on the shelf. Very detailed and very entertaining. (I noticed that it's listed on our supplemental reading list so the teacher knows it's a good book). 5 stars.

What a great book !!!

This book is a great "first" book to start learning about stocks. The book is well written, and keeps you interested throughout. I wish that some chapters on technical analysis were better explained, but given the scope of the book, I guess I am asking for a bit too much. If you already know a lot about stocks, you might wanna get a more advance book, but as a beginner, its a great book.

Great in really understanding stocks

I never write reviews but this book deserves a best one: buy it now! It's simply written, full of useful information and the best book to start your trading education with. It will explain in simple language all the necessary concepts what other books only brush on without really explaining what they are talking about. The boook covers all the most important basics and you can immediately apply your knowledge and will understand what is going on on the market the next day. Brilliant!

Well written, easy reading book on the Stock Market.

This book is a great book for beginning investors. Nearly every book I've read on the subject has been dry and boring, and I'd tend to retain little knowledge as I trudged my way through. Michael Sincere does an amazing job of covering a large amount of information in a format that's easy to read and understand. Most books on stocks I've read are heavily biased towards fundamental or technical analysis, and do very little to explain both. This book covers both fundamental and technical analysis, and gives the pros and cons of each, suggesting that using both is best, and leaves it to the reader to decide what's best for them. This book also does a very good job of pointing out the benefits of contrarian strategies, and defining the major pitfalls most beginning investors face, and how to overcome them to become a successful investor. Even though the book goes into advanced strategies, the author quite responsibly points out that they should be left to successful investors, but gives enough insight to allow for understanding, and even commonly suggests other readings for further study. This is THE book to read for a beginning investor interested in the stock market, especially if other books have been too tedious or boring.
