Uncool: A Girl's Guide to Misfitting in

So you didn't make the cheerleading squad. You wouldn't be caught dead in one of those too-short pleated skirts anyway. Fact is, you're not the same as everyone else. So what's wrong with that? An... This description may be from another edition of this product.

Uncool?

While I was initially opposed to the idea of "Uncool," which seemed to promote high-school heirarchy, I found that this book for teens had some genuinely good advice for kids who might not necessarily fall in the popular group (in most cases, nearly everyone). My favorite parts by far were the quotes from teens like me who had trouble fitting in, which were valuable in giving me perspective as to how cliques are born and how they function. My only complaint with this book as that it got a little too "after school special" sometimes, but this was generally outisde the norm. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the low key advice Uncool had to offer to high school students.

uncool is the new cool

Uncool really lets women (and men) know that it's okay to be different, and that you should not follow the crowd or trend because it's "cool" to do so. It teaches you to voice your opinions, and be independent. After reading Uncool, I really gained more self-confidence because the book really helped show me that there are so many people that think the same, dress the same, and it's better to stay true to yourself and whatever you feel comfortable. This book was fun to read, since it adds a lot of humor to it, i.e. "what parents say to make you feel better" or the "dear bane-of-my-existence" letter. This book really got me pumped up to wear mismatched socks and to build weird crap that flies...haha.

Great book to get you through your first year of high school

This book is definitely something that i wish i had when i entered high school. This book had some really interesting and true stuff that we can all relate to when it comes to the phases involved in growing up and feeling a little out of the loop. We all feel it sometimes and this book just reinforces that fact and makes you feel good about it. Also a lot of the stuff in this book about friends and enemies if definitely very true and we can all definitely relate to it at almost any point in our lives. -Lisa M, 16,Ny
