"Uncollected Volume 3" is a Paul Jennings omnibus containing Undone (1993), Uncovered (1995) and Unseen (1998), the seventh to ninth books in his best selling "Un" series of short stories for kids (though its fun for all ages really). There are funny stories, there are strange stories, there are stories that are a bit gross, but they're all really easy to read and all very Australian. Paul Jennings is a very famous chap down under, and did for kid's reading in Australia in the 1980s and 1990s what J.K. Rowling did for reading worldwide this decade. This omnibus is probably my least favorite of the three "Uncollected" volumes, but that's not to say it's bad. There's still great stories to read and great fun to be had. "Undone" is a collection of eight stories, including a tale of a boy covered in bats, a bug that makes anything it bites invisible and some strange desert beings made of pure, bubbling water. "Uncovered" has nine stories, and is probably my least favorite in the whole series of "Un" books. Stories include a tale about a toilet paper obsessed autistic boy, a strange breed of birds with teeth and a time travelling teen. "Unseen", with eight stories, on the other hand, is one of my favorites. Features a story about a "seeshell", a hungry, shapeshifting ghost, and a parrot that makes you repeat silly phrases. Unlike the original books, This omnibus edition is littered with an illustration for each story (the illustration featuring on each page of that story). This makes it all the easier to find the one you want. It's a good value omnibus, and one worth getting, though if you're just getting into Paul Jennings, it'd be a good thing to start with the first volume of the "Uncollected" set.
