I first read this book as a child...

My grandmother gave me her copy, a beautifully illustrated volume which gave forth such a story of love for a cat. I subsequently lent this copy, and it was never returned, so I have purchased what I hope is a similar tome to the original. Uncle Whiskers is written so vibrantly that you feel as though you were a silent friend of the author, feeling his anguish over the horrible accident, his nurturing, and the lifelong bond these two ultimately share. To those who have never felt what it's like to spend time with these extraordinary creatures, Uncle Whiskers is an endearing story which you'll find yourself thinking about years after you've read it.

If you see this book buy it!

A heart warming and enjoyable story. Very well written and appropriate for ages 10-100. If you like cats (and maybe even if you don't) the story of Uncle Whiskers will inspire you. If you ever come across this book buy it. Even if you don't end up loving it, you will know someone who will. This book has been a favorite of mine since childhood and I still re-read it every two years or so.
