Great book!

I really enjoyed this book and I'm sure any Harry Potter fan would find it very entertaining. It's very witty and some of the references had me laughing my head off (e.g. the mention of "Sherman and Peabody"....you might have to be older to appreciate that one though!). I found myself nodding my head in agreement with the author's choices as to why he loved JK Rowling or what made the chapter memorable. The author doesn't presume to preach or draw final conclusions or tell you what to think; the book simply presents different perspectives and highlights with regard to Book 6. This book gets a 5 out of 5 from me!

Interested in the next (and last --sob--) Harry Potter book?

I found Mr. Zimmerman's book fascinating. It contains a fairly in-depth look at Half-Blood Prince, as well as a summary of what J.K. Rowling has said in regard to her next book. Not only that, but there is also a section that compares the Bloombury book of Half-Blood Prince with the Scholastic book, basically discrepancy-by-discrepancy. Perhaps the best part, though, is the fact that this is a book that is to be updated fairly regularly up until the seventh Harry Potter book is actually released. That means that when J.K. Rowling gives interviews or updates her website to include more information regarding this last book, we will be treated to that information on an on-going basis. Now, as much as I loved this book, there were some points with which I disagreed with Mr. Zimmerman. However, it all makes for good discussion with others who are equally anticipating the grand finale to this amazing septology.

Parts of the missing pieces possibly revealed?

When I first read "7", I knew what to expect because I had already read Mr. Zimmerman's previous Harry Potter preview book and found, to my surprise, that the deeply intellectual analysis and speculation by Mr. Zimmerman and interested Harry Potter devotees was well thought out and, surprisingly, accurate in its depiction of what would be in "Half Blood Prince". Of course, not all of my questions were answered by "Half Blood Prince" (not even the ones from the speculators) and after I read the real "Half Blood Prince" I searched and found that Nimble had done it again and had written what I call group speculation. No matter what you might think, someone has probably considered it before you and has posted it. The book "7" has offered explanations to events in the previous six books that had NEVER crossed my mind. I consider myself a real Harry Potter fan and I was amazed with the cogent and entertaining posts and musings that Mr. Zimmerman had gathered from others (as well as written himself). If you are looking for a "spoiler", well, since we don't really know what is in book 7 for real, this isn't one. What "7" is is the book we need before JK Rowling makes our dreams come true by finishing the final book of the septology. In "7" we see ideas that may be right, some that may be wrong, but all that have logic behind them. "7" is a book I have read over and over. The interspertion of peoples' commentary is a feature that I enjoy and I heartily recommend this "prequel" to anyone with an imagination and a wish that JK Rowling would hurry up and tell us what happened to Snape!!!!

Great Resource!

This is a very good book for fans of the Harry Potter books. It gives a vast amount of insight to the theories and opinions on the mysteries of Book 6. There are many good points to the open questions that are left in the Half Blood Prince and every chapter's highlights are discussed by the author and also by reader comments. The book also gets updated frequently and you get a PDF of the whole book with the updated parts every time new material gets added. Great idea! A definite must have for Potterheads.

Awesome

As with a lot of us Harry Potter fans I tend to check out a lot of these "discussion" books rather skeptically. I'm very glad I decided to get this one. The author has done a great job of being informative, and offering many topics for discussion, even if there are a few typos. The few mistakes that got past the editors, such as "Privet Lane" instead of Drive, bothered me a little at first, but all the information and discussions he gives more than make up for the oopses. All in all, I can honestly say, it's more than worth it, especially since the author gives the option of permanent updates via e-mail for the book. Enjoy it and the discussions it will start.
