Fun, fun book -- especially if you love comic books AND ROMANCE!

This was a great read with three strong novellas. All three authors: Jaide Fox, Brenna Lyons, Joy Nash and Michele Pillow provide new and amusing takes on the super hero myth and lifestyle while still indulging the romance reader with all the convetions one expects of the genre. The erotic content makes this book for ADULTS ONLY. "With Great Power" by Brenna Lyons is the best written of the three stories, and could stand on its own (with a little sex and romance predictablity removed) -- as REALLY good SF story. The characters were well-developed and her style very easy and enjoyeable to read. Lyons is a kind of a phenomenon on the Internet/Ebook circuit and after reading this, I can see why. I will be looking for more things written by her. I found myself chuckling out loud at points during "Heroes, Incorporated" by Joy Nash as she explored those things we have always wondered about super heroes but were afraid to ask. If this were made into a movie, it would be along the line of something done by Mel Brooks. Michele Pillow's "Silk "is a good read full of great descriptions and characters that both enterains and explores this exercise in combining genres. I thought her ending was abrupt and a little contrived, but the writing was excellent. "Demon Huntress: Sacrificed" by Jaide Fox is a good story, but marred by too many pat plot constructs and easy answers to the heroines's dilemma. What saved the story was Fox's crisp and professional writing. I also ask that the author never again use the phrase, "The END or the Beginning?" as the last thing I take away from a story. I think most of us "dumb readers" were able to figure that out from the way the story ended. Worth your reading time, especially if you like something sexy, SF/Comic driven and different. The cover was gorgeous but the back blub was unreadable since the color ink for the type was the same color almost as the background. The only reason this didn't get a 5-star was because of the ending of Ms. Fox's story and the packaging. If this is ever re-issued I would suggest a wording removal and redo of the backcover.
