Unbelievable Photos

Amazing photographs of the sport of sailing and sailboat racing are captured beautifully by Sharon Green in this book. I purchased the book for my husband, a long-time sailor and former sailboat racer. He loves the book! The photos are exciting action-level, taste the salt spray and rush to the side of the boat adventures which you can feel as well as see. Fairly light on text, but every page contains beautiful photos.

Spectacularly and definitively brilliant

As a lifelong sailor, I can say there is only one book which really captures the intensity of what it is like to race big boats. It's the superbowl without the spectators as the only place to watch is as a participant. Except with this book where the motion, intensity, light & drama (sometimes with drastic consequences) comes home. This is a coffee table book you will pick up over and over and over...

Very Inspiring

Purchasing this book was a shot in the dark for me. I ordered it online and could only go on how the cover looked. I had originally ordered it as a gift for my dad--an avid sailor of 20 years--but, because of my own interest in the sport, when I got the book and took a look I was so inspired that I decided to keep it for myself. I got my dad a different book. Since then, some of my friends have seen it sitting on my shelf and pulled it down. Even my friends who know nothing about sailing and thought it was an "old man's sport" were surprised by what they saw. The pictures in the book almost come alive before your eyes. They're snapshots taken in the face of the action sailing has to offer on good windy days. And for my female friends, the book is almost like a 170 page "fireman callendar" (if you know what I mean)--sailors aren't exactly ghost-colored toothpicks. Its a great book that belongs beside another great book called Sailing Thoroughbreads.
