Partition of India into two dominions was a great event in the history of the world as a whole. Not just focusing on the facts, personally though, millions of lives were disrupted, millions killed, many people rendered homeless.

The people were forced to migrate from a ""well settled life"" to be termed as a ""refugee""; to start a new life at a new unknown place. On one side many refugees disappeared and gradually died off due to no source of income or a place for shelter. But, on the other side many worked hard, earned a living and set up a good life for their generations to live on with pride.

This novel is an actual picture of the struggles all the refugees had to face. The main character of this novel is the author's own grandfather, who migrated from Pakistan to India and worked hard to earn a living and set up a good life for his after generations.
