Two Steps Over Intrigue

Synopsis of 'Two Steps Over Intrigue'

The Go-To Guy

Tom Masson is the 'Go-To' guy. He acts as a link for people who want to buy the services of a killer-for-hire. When Masson is contacted by a woman who tells him that she wants her wealthy husband dead. Masson meets her and they discuss the job. The woman agrees to pay the fee and the wheels are set in motion, but it isn't as simple as that. When, Divorty, the killer-for-hire, arrives at the house there is a twist that changes everything. Divorty breaks into the house only to discover that target is already dead; murdered by an unknown assailant. Just as Divorty is leaving he is jumped on by the police.
Masson has to find out who has set up Divorty or his own life could be in danger. Thus begins a frantic search for answers to a number of questions. This begins a fast-moving story that is set in and around London and concerns: murder, desire, duplicity and revenge.

The Lady Below
When an elderly lady suddenly passes away in the flat below Alan and Leah Grovenor, they are determined to discover who she was. Their task is further exasperated when a stranger arrives on the scene and wants to gain entry to the now deceased lady's flat. Grovenor tells him he can't help him. In the early hours of the next morning someone breaks into the flat and the questions are multiplied.
Over the course of his investigations Alan Grovenor discovers that the lady may have been a concentration camp survivor, but it is that the truth? Was she a survivor of the Nazi's or was she actually a concentration camp guard in Dachau, then Bergen-Belsen? A story of intrigue about who the lady was, and her true identity commences. It takes us down a number of roads with a host of characters who are on the edge of normal. Everything culminates in the German city of Hamburg, when Grovenor meets a few people who have the answers to the questions.
