When Jared's girlfriend is killed in an accident, he and his best friend, Rob, deal with guilt and grief in opposite ways. Jared signs up for a two- year mission in Japan, but Rob droppes out of school and begins to question his faith. Why the difference ?No "goody-goody" tale of God and glory, the author depicts real problems and gives an inside glimpse of church-centerd family life so seldom portrayed in teen fiction. Too bad the cover is so blahh. The story is memorable.
