I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Texas political history. Knaggs has skillfully woven together the tales of many disparate campaigns and individuals in one enjoyable book. Much of the information in this book would be forgotten to history if Knaggs had not put it down on paper. As a press aide to Sen. Tower he had a bird's eye view of what he writes about.
Two-Party Too Good

Two-Party Texas is a tremendous book that any political junkie or history buff will enjoy. John Knaggs put together a masterpiece as he transitioned from a news reporter to a political cunsultant during the time period which he writes about. The book traces the political career of Senator John Tower of Texas from his first Senate campaign to the last campaign and the change of Texas political history in between. For those interested in how campaigns were run by the minority party in the 1960's before television and air conditioning, you'll find what you want here. The book details some great campaigns and even if you know the eventual outcomes of those elections, the story build-up is incredible. Give Two-Party Texas a try, you'll enjoy it. Maybe you'll even appreciate it as I do.
