Not the best

I truly gave this book a chance. 200 pages later, I just couldn't read it any longer. I even skipped ahead and it still was a boring story. I felt that the husband was a push over and the wife was controlling. Not his best book unfortunately.

To soap opera likish!!!

Not my favorite Nicholas Sparks book! To 😔sad!!! To soap opera likish!

Eh.

I did not like this story. The husband was really weak and the wife absolutely self-centered. I could not read this story without a moment of feeling anger toward the characters. I felt no sympathy and just couldn't identify with them. I had to get rid of it about a quarter way into the novel. Hopefully the next reader will enjoy it.

Not his best book

I read a lot, and enjoy many of the Sparks book; this one makes you wonder if you will ever get through it to the end.

First and last Nicholas Sparks for me!

A boring story that's an easy enough read that I didn't put it down, with a few sappy chapers at the end to make you think its a good book. Its not. I thought this book was going to be more about parenting and less about a failing relationship, but that's on me. I'm sure plenty of people find the book intresting.

Such a great story

This is the second Nicholas Sparks book that i have ever read and now i'm a huge fan of his work and i will be purchasing all his work. The first one i read was A walk to remember,. and like this one i found it hard to start off but once you get past a bit you really get into it and it stays with you forever. This book was hard to read in the beginning but i fell in love with the main character and his love interest,, his family is a family you wanted in your life his mother is a hard working woman that worries about her family since her family has all died from cancer and his father is a hard working man that loves baseball. Vivian a typical woman that reacts off of her current mood and doesn't apologize really for any action she has made . Emily the lost soul mate that has all the wisdom in the world. Marge the sister you wish you had. A family circle that harmonizes so well and supports each other when it is needed! Russ the main character a typical man he is somewhat naive to what his wife is saying majority of the time. Which creates conflict in his life which sets him up to change everything in his life and to fully understand everything. I feel that like most books the author doesn't know how to properly end a book. It always feels to me that it is a rush ending and that he has to fill the last chapter with all the information that you seek. The last chapter and the Epilogy seems to be a high pace of information that could have been spread out throughout the chapters. But i have to say he didn't leave you with a cliffhanger of an ending
