Wow, the last review of this book was in 1996, almost 13 years ago! I recently found this book at my local library, and enjoyed it so much that I bought my own copy. It's a great resource for discovering potential Twin Cities bike adventures that you otherwise might have missed. My 2001 edition is still completely useful almost a decade after its publishing. I love that its hand drawn maps are designed to be copied and taken along on your ride. Most importantly, almost all the routes include an ice cream stop marker! Awesome. Thanks Fred!
Great bike trails, but bring a detailed map!

This book has a collection of interesting bike rides of varying lengths and difficulties. All rides have information on point-to-point mileage, nearby attractions (including Dairy Queens for stops on the way), and terrain/difficulty. The routes are great (have ridden several already), but the maps are only good to a certain level of detail. Bring a street-level map (and maybe a compass) if you don't know the area. If you are a recreational biker in the Twin Cities, this is a must-have.
