This is the scientist of Myth and Legend.

I do consider myself a Lomite, having followed Robert's path from The Hiram Key onwards through 2nd Messiah, Uriels Machine, Book of Hiram et cetera. Each of the previous works brought me, as a Freemason, closer to my own personal Craft. Always leaving many more questions than they answered. This work is no different. Like many folk i have sat content with the story of Templars.....Rosslyn.....Freemasons. Complacent and comforted. Too bad. This work raises the reader up from languid psychological inertia, and presents a more complex understanding of the depth of our Craft. We are presented with Goddess Mdna from a serious scientist, wrapped in veils of myth that has been at the center of the entire history and development of mankind. This work has poked gaping holes in the historical nature of the Craft. The Rosslyn aspect and tales of Bannockburn Templars and the whole romantic myth of the wisdom of Solomon on tour with the shroud of Jesus, is lifted into a higher relic. Thankfully, as usual, Robert guides us beyond the normal meme, and places our understanding into something new. It is a re- examination of Rosslyn---Celestial and Terrestrial. Our understanding is poked and pushed into a new respect of our universe and our place within it through new questions. Like any good Freemason, or Scientist, Robert raises questions that only truth can answer. Whether the personal truths of a Scientist or the spiritual truths of a Freemason. Many stories, myths and fables are expressed to us and this book will help to cut out the vanities and put our enlightenment only into the here and the now. I can not give less than 5 stars for this work, because, it breaks new ground. Anyone else who can break new ground...please publish.

a good read

This book was a gift to Mum. She finds if full offacts and very informative.

Fascinating book

The title of this book is a little misleading, as it is more concerned with the history and rituals of Freemasonry than with the Knights Templar, but otherwise, this is a must read for anyone who is interested in the topic. When I first saw who the author of this book was, I was half expecting another slightly nutty volume along the lines of "The Second Messiah" or "Uriel's Machine", but after reading a couple of chapters, I realized that Mr. Lomas must be the straight guy in the Knight & Lomas team, and that this is, in fact quite a serious work. The author dismisses any direct link between the Knights Templar and Freemasonry about halfway through the book, and then launches into what appears to be about 100 pages of padding on different myths around the world and how they might have impacted Freemasonry. I lost sight of what he was trying to say at this point, but he does sort of bring things back together in the last couple of chapters, where he opines that Freemasonry rituals are in fact a repository for many of these myths, including stories about the Knights Templar. It's hard to know how much he says about Freemasonry is correct or not, since Freemasons are sworn to secrecy about their different rites and rules, but if only some of the descriptions are accurate, then they are an interesting bunch of people. So, don't go into this book expecting great revelations about the Knights Templar. You will, however, learn a lot about the Freemasons.
